AEON MALL BINH TAN COMPLETED THE SECOND RENOVATION IN 2022
WITH AN INNOVATIVE APPEARANCE & REFRESHING CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE
Ho Chi Minh City, January 15, 2023 – On the edge of the New Year of the Cat in 2023, AEON MALL Binh Tan has completed the second renovation project in 2022 with a total of 73 stores changed including 24 new stores and 49 revamped or re-located stores. AEON MALL Binh Tan will continue the renovation in 2023 in order to finish the remaining foreplaned categories.
As a life design developer, along with years of experience in operating Shopping Centers from Japan, AEON MALL always prepares to update the market trends, reinvent shopping malls to deliver the best experience, and fulfill the immediate needs of consumers and business partners. Since opening on July 1st, 2016, AEON MALL Binh Tan has undergone two renovations in 2019 and 2022.
In addition to being the first year following the Covid-19 pandemic, 2022 marks a turning moment for AEON MALL Binh Tan. AEON MALL Binh Tan must constantly innovate in terms of design and quality while also quickly adapting to shifting market trends given that the mall has recently reopened after more than a month of closure due to the pandemic. By adhering to the aforementioned standards, AEON MALL Binh Tan management team has made continuous efforts in 2022 toward the development of the largest shopping center to the west of Ho Chi Minh City in respect of facilities and digital transformation on a sustainable basis with the local community, environment, and economy.
The most notable aspect of AEON MALL Binh Tan’s second renovation project is the 73 stores that have had new appearance and brand modified. In which, 24 new stores appeared for the first time at AEON MALL Binh Tan, including:

Customers in the Binh Tan district and neighboring areas now have accessed to more comprehensive and novel experiences thanks to the grand openings of new stores across categories, including the BB Wellness with hydrotherapy bath service for babies which first appeared at AEON MALL Binh Tan. Or the grand opening of Starbucks, the world famous coffee brand opening for the first time in the western area of Ho Chi Minh City.
Additionally, 49 of the current stores at AEON MALL Binh Tan have undergone renovations, including restoration, repair, and decoration changes to improve appearance, service quality to enhance customer experience and attractiveness. These shops consist of:

Along with the appearance renewal, AEON MALL Binh Tan has conducted the re-planning of the stores following separated areas which assist the customers to easier to seek and compare the products in a specific category. For example, the chain of sports fashion stores located on the 1st floor with 8 brands: Vans, Sneaker Buzz, Skechers, Li-Ning, Maxxsport, Reebok, Converse and Le Coq Sportif. The Food Court area on the 2nd floor has been re-planned with the addition of the free mobile charging portal pole, also, retains the existing feature which is an open space where customers can be able to enjoy dishes from different stores. After the renovation, for the first time at AEON MALL Binh Tan, tiNiWorld has added modern VR games with their expanding services. Finally, California Yoga & Fitness – the only gymnast service-providing store at AEON MALL Binh Tan will have an area expansion to fulfill the need of improving the physical health of customers after the pandemic.
For the public area, AEON MALL Binh Tan has installed free mobile charging portal poles and relaxing seats at the head of each floor. The hallway seats also got repaired and renewed. The customer feedback digital panel was installed on the ground floor’s information booth which is a new step forward in terms of collecting customers’ contribution instead of using paper like before.
On the digital developing aspect, by using the service from Payoo Online Services Joint Stock Company (Cong Dong Viet), AEON MALL Binh Tan has unified the payment method in individual stores inside the mall by the credit/debit cards or QR codes into an only accumulating “coin” system via AEONMALL Vietnam application platform. “Coin” is a unit that can be converted into different kinds of gifts or vouchers. Over 100 stores at AEON MALL Binh Tan with POS payment system have been connected with the AEONMALL Vietnam application which allowed customers to optimize the shopping expenses in those stores. Additionally, AEON MALL Binh Tan application includes a navigation map to the stores within the mall, registration for online events and using the smart E-LOCKER system on the ground floor. The smart E-LOCKER system has 70 lockers in 3 different sizes which will contribute to the convenient and intelligent shopping experience for customers at AEON MALL Binh Tan.

Within 12 months of the second major renovation, AEON MALL Binh Tan welcomed a number of customers that were 1.88 times more than 2021 and 1.04 times more than 2020 during the same period. Since the re-outbreak of Covid-19 epidemic in March 2022 with many closed stores, this was a remarkable result from the entire management team and all the employees of AEON MALL Binh Tan in the past year.

AEON MALL Binh Tan is located at No. 01, Street 17A, Binh Tri Dong B Ward, Binh Tan District, Ho Chi Minh City, under AEONMALL Vietnam Co., Ltd – the first Japanese Trade Center developer in Vietnam.
